Dr. Martin Kimemia, Vice-Chancellor Mount Kigali University (MKUR), is excited to announce the commencement of construction on a brand-new, state-of-the-art classroom block designed to enhance the learning experience and accommodate the growing student population. This significant development is a testament to MKUR’s commitment to providing high-quality education in a modern and conducive environment. Currently, the new block foundation is under construction just behind the existing block. The new block, which is designed in an L shape, has been approved by the engineers and is set to provide the best learning atmosphere for the students while overseeing the beautiful view of Rwanda.
The new classroom block will be built with sustainability in mind, incorporating energy-efficient designs and eco-friendly materials. Ample natural lighting, ventilation, and green spaces will create a comfortable and inspiring atmosphere for both students and faculty.
The new block will not only provide additional learning spaces but also encourage collaboration, innovation, creativity, and knowledge-sharing among students and educators.

Running at the same time is the digital transformation agenda at the University, where it will be migrating from the Students Management Information System (SMIS), ERP, and “My.MKU” to the more unified University Integrated Resource Platform (UnIRP).
