SCHOOL OF NURSING & HEALTH SCIENCES

The Mount Kigali University School of Health Sciences offers modern, industry-focused programmes in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Dental Therapy, Dental Technology, General Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and Midwifery, designed to equip students with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills for today’s integrated healthcare systems. Supported by the University Medical Centre, students gain hands-on clinical experience, and all admissions meet regulatory requirements. Applications are open year-round, with intakes in three trimesters annually.

The School is committed to addressing Africa’s critical shortage of health workers, currently 1.55 per 1,000 people compared to the recommended 4.45 and contributes to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 by training competent professionals to improve health and well-being across the continent.

Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences

Entry Requirements

  • Two principal passes in Biology and Chemistry (grade A, B, or C)
  • A subsidiary pass in Mathematics or Physics
  • A2 passes in laboratory/laboratory technology or related fields may apply
  • A1 health-related applicants must present valid professional licenses

  • International nurses must hold a valid license and get NCNM equivalence

• Advanced Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or General Nursing with at least 2 years’ working experience (credit transfer allowed in line with the university policy)
• International applicants must possess a valid professional license and academic equivalence from the relevant regulatory bodies (HEC/NESA and NCNM)

  • Must demonstrate English proficiency
