MAY 2026 EDITION
Transforming Lives Through Innovation, Partnerships and Excellence
May marked the beginning of a new chapter at Mount Kigali University, with the University welcoming a new student cohort while advancing academic excellence, industry engagement and student-centred development. The edition highlights the Kenya Tourism Board CEO’s engagement with future tourism leaders, the commissioning of a new University bus, health science scholarship opportunities, German language classes and the University’s commemoration activities. Together, these stories reflect MKU’s commitment to creating an environment where students gain practical exposure, access new opportunities and are prepared to become innovative and globally competitive graduates.
JUNE 2026 EDITION
A Month of Partnerships, Practice and Progress
June 2026 was a month of significant achievements, partnerships and experiential learning at Mount Kigali University. The edition captures the University’s historic achievement as the inaugural Rwanda Varsity Football League Champions, alongside strategic engagements with the University of Global Health Equity and Creighton University College of Nursing to strengthen nursing and midwifery education. It also showcases students’ exposure to finance, media and creative industries, the Kenya High Commission’s Madaraka Day celebrations, a practical photography workshop and an expert lecture on Rwanda’s Competence-Based Curriculum. These stories demonstrate MKU’s growing emphasis on partnerships, practical learning, regional collaboration and global engagement.
JULY 2026 EDITION
Partnerships, Practice and Progress Across Every School
The July 2026 edition celebrates a vibrant month of practical learning, industry partnerships, community engagement and innovation across Mount Kigali University. From empowering hotel leaders to use data for smarter decision-making and strengthening Kenya–Rwanda tourism collaboration, to commissioning the MKU Ecosystem Access Road and supporting nursing students through alumni mentorship, the edition captures the University’s broad impact beyond the classroom. It also highlights students’ engagement with legal practice, journalism and media, robotics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and drone technology, alongside Hope Kabibi’s transformative learning experience in Zanzibar. Together, these stories showcase an MKU experience built around partnerships, practice, exposure and opportunities that prepare students for the world beyond university.
AUGUST 2026 EDITION
Innovation, Technology and Impact
August 2026 showcased Mount Kigali University’s growing focus on innovation, technology and practical solutions to Africa’s challenges. A key highlight was the AI & Robotics Hackathon, where students transformed classroom knowledge into innovative solutions for smart cities, agriculture and healthcare. The edition reflects MKU’s commitment to nurturing creators, innovators and solution providers through hands-on learning, industry partnerships, research and emerging technologies.
