Dr. Stephen Tomno Cheboi is an education scholar and academic leader serving as the Dean of the School of Education at Mount Kigali University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Educational Administration), Moi University, Kenya, a Master of Education in Educational Management (Economics of Education), Egerton University, Kenya, and a Bachelor of Education (Arts), Moi University, Kenya. 

Dr. Cheboi’s academic teaching areas include; Economics of Education, Education Planning/ Administration/ Management /Leadership and Policy Analysis; Research Methodology. Interdisciplinary interests include; Education and Society, with a Bias to Girl Child Education  and Equity in Education. His Philosophy is based on the belief that learning is most effective when instruction is student-centered, participatory, and contextually relevant. He strives to create an inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and active engagement, with a focus in developing Competencies among Learners, with a focus in equip students with both conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills necessary for the 21st Century challenges. 

As Dean, he contributes to the academic leadership and development of the School of Education, supporting the delivery of quality teacher education. His academic and education leadership background provides a strong foundation for his leadership role and engagement in higher education. He is committed to promoting equitable access to quality education as a foundation for sustainable societal development with a belief that education is a powerful tool for reducing inequalities and empowering individuals and communities.
