A delegation from the Council of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, led by Vice Chancellor Proffessor Victoria Wambui Ngumi, paid a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of Mount Kigali University, Dr. Martin Kimemia, in a move aimed at strengthening academic ties between the two institutions.
The high-level visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), setting the stage for expanded collaboration in key areas of higher education. The agreement focuses on promoting student and staff exchange programmes, fostering joint research initiatives, and enhancing institutional partnerships.

Officials from both universities emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in advancing education, innovation, and knowledge sharing. The partnership is expected to open up new opportunities for students and faculty, including cross-border academic exposure and collaborative research projects addressing regional and global challenges.
The engagement reflects a broader trend among East African universities to build strategic alliances that enhance the quality of education and align academic programmes with evolving industry and societal needs.
