MKU Law Students Gain Regional Exposure in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights through their participation in the Regional Great Lakes Training in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, held at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya. The training is organised by Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights (iPeace).
The regional training offers students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of international humanitarian law and human rights while engaging with perspectives and experiences beyond the classroom. By exploring real-world legal issues, students can connect theory with practice and strengthen essential competencies in legal analysis, critical thinking and professional engagement.

Participation in regional programmes such as this reflects Mount Kigali University’s commitment to providing students with opportunities that enrich their academic journey while broadening their professional and personal perspectives. Exposure to practical learning environments enables students to build confidence, exchange knowledge with others and appreciate the evolving demands of the legal profession.

At MKU, education extends beyond lectures and examinations. The University encourages students to pursue opportunities for professional development, practical engagement and regional exposure, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to navigate an increasingly competitive job market and contribute meaningfully to society.
Through such opportunities, Mount Kigali University continues to empower future legal professionals to translate knowledge into action, uphold human rights and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
